The Townhub interactive town-resident communications platform was developed during 2015 to build engagement between towns and their residents.
Townhub is a new meeting place where the town and residents engage. Developed as a public-private sector partnership with towns, the platform not only provides the town with the ability to share information and town news, it is a place where the community gets to engage with the town, share perspective on issues that are important, post photos, events and classifieds.
It is the place where the community goes for town rules, tax and building information, as well as to find descriptions of local organizations and updates on road work or water or power outages. Townhub is designed to work on smart phones and tablets. Users can sign up to receive news and alerts by email, and will be able to use a new reporting tool to share issues with town leadership.
The platform was adopted by towns in the Hudson Valley including Greenport and Gallatin and customized for the Retirement Income Industry Association® (RIIA®).
